Special Parts for a High Standing villa
ULMA presents a “personalized solution” for a high standing one-family house made by Natural Investment construction company, located in Sant Antoni de Calonge coast locality, in Girona. Among other parts, the design and manufacturing of special window surrounds, cornices, cornice fronts and imposts. The house location on a hill in front of the beach, made the architects as project authors, DNA Architects, at one hand, to look for a waterproof material to avoid parts deterioration by saltpeter and on the other hand, a material resistant to temperature changes to protect parts from atmospheric changes and guarantee durability thereof. “The challenge was to offer a distinguished and customized solution guaranteeing material durability as well”. Besides, it was intended to give the house a distinguished and refined touch. For this, it was necessary to count on a material capable of solving all peculiarities of the house and obtaining the different shapes desired. By having the ability to comply with all requirements, as well as, by presenting a solution with ease of material placement, made the developer and architects to decide upon the polymer concrete.
